Sai Sashank Kuppa is an alumnus of BITS Pilani, whose college journey was marked by numerous impactful roles and memorable experiences. His most notable work is being the Founder of the Peer Mentorship Program, which has been running successfully since its inception. In this blog, he revisits the highlights of his unforgettable journey at BITS.
The earth has finished another revolution around the sun and this revolution is a special one for BITS as it completes 60 years of existence. Over this time my alma mater has built a reputation for producing some of the finest young minds of the country.
I remember entering BITS with a sense of awe and excitement. I was excited to live on my own, make friends, learn new things and have fun. I have been super fortunate to have been part of some great student groups on campus - Poetry Club, NSS, Placement Unit, etc. to name a few. In the process of engaging / leading these organisations I have made friends who will last me for a lifetime. As I sit here and look back it is quite humbling to see the positive impact those around me have had on me - they have challenged assumptions, changed mindsets and taught innumerable nuances of both logical and illogical aspects of life.
BITSians’ Day is a great time to connect with these friends (and other BITSians!) who keep making a profound difference in our lives - one conversation at a time. BITSians’ have always stuck with each other and supported each other from the moment they step on campus - be it through sharing files on DC, participating in a fee-hike protest, to connect us to THAT important person they know, or simply to say “Bhai stress mat le, chal ANC chalte hain!”
Forever grateful and proud to be a BITSian!
